AI Tools Usage Policy

Al-Ridha: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat recognizes the rapid evolution of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and related Large Language Models). To preserve scholarly integrity, authenticity, and transparency in community service reporting, the journal establishes the following policy:

  • No AI Authorship:

    • AI tools, generative models, or machine learning algorithms cannot be listed as an author or co-author of a manuscript.

    • Authorship requires legal accountability, ethical responsibility, and the capacity to consent to terms and verify public declarations—attributes unique to human beings.

  • Permissible Use of AI by Authors:

    • AI tools may be used solely as assistive aids to improve language readability, spelling, grammatical syntax, formatting, or preliminary drafting translation.

    • AI must not be used to generate fabricated community partner data, simulated empirical field outcomes, artificial interview quotes, or hallucinated academic references.

  • Mandatory Disclosure & Transparency:

    • Authors who use generative AI tools in any phase of manuscript preparation must include a formal Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in a dedicated section before the References (or in the Acknowledgments/Methods section).

    • The declaration must specify: the tool used (name and version/model), the developer/platform, and the specific purpose or section where it was utilized.

    • Example statement: "During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors utilized [Tool Name, e.g., ChatGPT-4o] for English grammar refinement and stylistic editing. After using this service, the authors thoroughly reviewed and edited the content and assume full responsibility for the content and integrity of the publication."

  • Human Responsibility & Accountability:

    • The human authors are ultimately and fully responsible for the accuracy, validity, originality, ethical clearance, and academic integrity of the entire manuscript, including avoiding inadvertent plagiarism or copyright infringement introduced by AI tools.

  • Prohibition of AI in Peer Review:

    • Peer reviewers and editors are strictly prohibited from uploading unpublished manuscripts or submission materials into publicly accessible generative AI systems.

    • Doing so violates author confidentiality, data protection principles, and intellectual property rights.
